Arrive at Auckland Airport, where you’ll be met and transferred to your accommodation in the heart of New Zealand’s largest city. Today your journey begins with an early departure from Auckland to the Bay of Islands—a subtropical paradise known for its natural beauty and rich marine life. This stunning maritime park is home to 144 islands, secluded bays, and species such as dolphins, whales, penguins, and marlin.

Cruise through the stunning Bay of Islands, weaving past pristine islands and along the scenic Cape Brett Peninsula. Take in the iconic Cape Brett Lighthouse and the dramatic Motukokako, also known as the Hole in the Rock—watch for a lucky splash as the boat passes beneath (weather permitting). The area teems with marine life, including dolphins, as well as native birds and other wildlife. Enjoy a stop at Otehei Bay on Urupukapuka Island, where there's time to unwind - take a swim, explore the walking tracks or enjoy a bite to eat and drink from the on-site fully licensed café overlooking the water.

Travel by coach from Paihia to Auckland, passing rolling farmland and native bush. Spend the afternoon exploring beyond the Sky Tower. Walk up Mount Eden for city views, or visit the Auckland War Memorial Museum. Browse the Auckland Art Gallery, relax at Auckland Botanic Gardens, or see wildlife at Auckland Zoo. End your day with a Sea Kayaks Night Tour on the harbour.

Head towards the famous Waitomo Glow-worm Caves, a guided 45min tour will take you through this underground wonder and learn about these amazing glow-worms in the limestone caves formed over 30 million years ago. Finish the tour with a small boat cruise through the glow-worm grotto. Then travel to Matamata,home of the Hobbiton Movie Set, the world-famous film location of the Lord ofthe Rings and Hobbiton movies. At the end of your visit at Hobbiton board the coach and head down to Rotorua.

This morning, explore Rotorua’s top geothermal wonders. Begin at Wai-O-Tapu, where your guide leads you past vibrant hot springs, steaming vents, and the erupting Lady Knox Geyser. Visit New Zealand’s largest boiling mud pool before continuing to Whakarewarewa Thermal Valley, where geysers and bubbling pools create an otherworldly landscape. A short drive takes you to Waimangu Volcanic Valley, shaped by the Mt. Tarawera eruption and rich in geothermal beauty. This evening, enjoy an immersive cultural experience at Te Pā Tū, with powerful storytelling, performance, and a seasonal Māori feast in a forested setting.
