Over 7 days we will explore 3 different mountain ranges and head deep into our backcountry experiencing some of the longest and deepest runs in the Southern Hemisphere! You will ride untracked powder runs with no crowds while soaking in the stunning surrounding. Fully guided staying in comfortable accommodation.

Welcome to Christchurch

‘Haere Mai’ … Welcome to New Zealand!

Your tour starts early in the morning with a 6am departure from Hotel Rydges Latimer in Christchurch. Before departure, you can boost your body for an amazing day of heli skiing/boarding with a fully cooked breakfast. Today you will explore the vast mountainous area spanning three 3 ranges - The Arrowsmith, Ragged and Palmer Ranges which includes over 200 named heli runs. After this exhausting first day you will have the opportunity to soak in hot pools while enjoying the starry night sky.

Set in the picturesque mountain village of Methven and located just one hour drive from Christchurch, this hotel offers huge outside areas as well as open fires to relax after a day full of experiences.

Mount Hutt - 365 Skiable Hectares

Located in the Southern Alps, Canterbury’s Mt Hutt Ski Area receives some of the lightest and driest powder in Australasia. With 365 hectares of wide, undulating trails, open slopes and steep chutes there's something for everyone. The views from Mt Hutt are amazing, on one side you have to ocean and on the other the stunning Southern Alps. If you wish to ski on slopes where no lift reaches, there’s the heli-upgrade option for you. Tonight you will drive to Aoraki Mt Cook Village so you can rise early for Day 3.

A stunning destination surrounded by the silent splendor of the Southern Alps and with spectacular views of Aoraki/Mount Cook and the surrounding National Park World Heritage area. There is a selection of properties within the Terrace Road campus from Hotel to Chalet and Mountainview Motels - all budgets and standards can be catered for.

Heli Mount Cook

Mt Cook National Park is a fantasy land of ice and rock reknowned for its exquisite alpine beauty. This is home to the highest mountain in New Zealand, Mt Cook. The area offers excellent circumstances for heli skiing, it has the highest landings, longest runs, most consistent conditions and greatest snow accumulation of any backcountry area in New Zealand. A third of the park is covered in permanent ice and snow and the mighty Tasman Glacier is the longest glacier outside of the polar regions. Glacial melt gives the lakes their beautiful milky, turquoise colour.

Ohau the Hidden Gem of the Southern Alps

Today travel to beautiful Lake Ohau, located between Christchurch and Queenstown in the foothills of New Zealand's Southern Alps. Ohau Snow Fields offers exquisite dry powder and gets you off the beaten track to experience the outstandingly beautiful yet stark landscape, some of the most spectacular mountain views in New Zealand and the awesome range of ski fields available on the South Island. After our time riding at Ohau we drive through to Wanaka where we stay the night, ready for another amazing day of heli skiing.

Right in the heart of beautiful Wanaka, this hotel is located as the most central hotel of town. Lake Wanaka and the town centre are only a minute divided from this spot. Lake Wanaka and the beautiful mountainous landscape are part of this hotel's magnificent view!
Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the Beanie cafe and choose in the evenings between the Bullock Bar Grill for great steaks or go for Amigos Mexican Grill.

Heli Wanaka

Today as you are heading into the mountainous areas around Wanaka and the surrounding lakes, you will have access to over 8,500 square metres of terrain spreading across 11 different mountain ranges – this is over 3000 times the size of Coronet Peak! Your experienced heli guides will take you to some hidden spots where you will have the chance to ride virgin snow while enjoying the stunning views across the beautiful lakeside town of Wanaka. 

In the evening, Wanaka is an après-ski haven, with endless choices of places to dine, drink and dance the night away.

Back Country Tour at Treble Cone

Treble Cone lies within the heart of the Southern Alps and is the largest ski area on the South Island. Spread over three large basins, there's plenty of exhilarating skiing and boarding terrain for all abilities. The area is renowned for dry power and its spectacular views over Lake Wanaka and Mount Aspiring, its location also means reliable snow conditions as well as protection from the cold southerly winds. Today you will be joining professional guides for an incredible day of backcountry skiing/snowboarding beyond the boundaries of Treble Cone ski area.
