Queenstown, situated at the southern end of the South Islands Southern Alps sits at an altitude of 310 metes (1,020 feet) surrounded by classic high country scenery with alpine flora and fauna; rugged river gorges that run through epic ‘Lord of the Rings’ landscapes - rafting in Queenstown is spectacular! Shotover River Rafting - Grade 3-5 

The drive into Skippers Canyon is an adventure in its own right; known for its precarious drop offs the road to the Shotover winds slowly down all the way to the river, but its worth it, the view to the “put in” point at Deepwater Creek below where the white water begins is ‘National Geographic’. All specialist equipment, including a wetsuit, is supplied and after a comprehensive safety and raft technique training session is complete – you are on your way. No experience is necessary but an adventurous attitude does help. 

This is all about adrenalin, the exhilarating rapids found in the lower canyon are noteworthy and have been named - Jaws, After Shock, Toilet, Pinball and Sharks Fin to name a couple and the finale is rafting through the 170meter (557 feet) Oxenbridge Tunnel before shooting the Cascade Rapid to finish your adventure. After your rafting experience enjoy a sauna and hot shower at the Rafting base.

Kawarau River – Grade 2 - 3  


Great for Family and First Timers, Suited to those looking for a more relaxed rafting experience.
 Sit back and relax - enjoy the spectacular New Zealand scenery. This river provides a taste of white water rafting and offers plenty of opportunity to splash around and have some fun. Between the relatively gentle but fast flowing rapids you encounter long calm stretches of the river where you float through the rocky cliffs over vivid blue waters as you float under the historic Kawarau Bungy Bridge and alongside the rugged Gibbston Valley wine region, this is Lord of the Rings country at its best and features in many of the movies. - The Finale is an invigorating 400 meter (1300 foot) Dog Leg Rapid. Along the way you are encouraged to try a cliff jump or even get overboard and swim through a rapid! All specialist equipment, including a wetsuit, is supplied and after a comprehensive safety and raft technique training session is complete – you are on your way. No experience is necessary.

3-Day Rafting & Camping the Landsborough River

The upper river is a protected wilderness area and allows one to observe massive tongue shaped glaciers, native bush, braided rivers in a true high-country setting.
