Wairakei International Golf Course
Wairakei lies on 180 hectares (444 acres) of natural rolling countryside, 6460 metres (21,194 feet) from championship tees with 108 large well placed bunkers and was developed to meet the rigorous design standards required for world-class championship competitions.
This Golf Course is set in the heart of the scenic Wairakei Tourist Park near Great Lake Taupo and makes a round at the course a rare and challenging experience. The air is crisp, clear and natural bird life abounds. There are plenty of fairway bunkers and hazards on this undulating course. Officially opened in 1970, Wairakei International Golf Course graces natural rolling countryside near Taupo in the central North Island. With 108 large well-placed bunkers, Wairakei was rated 17th best golf course in the world outside the US by US Golf Digest magazine.

Please note all players and spectators must be dressed in appropriate golf attire, neat and tidy at all times with collared shirts, dress trousers or shorts to be worn. No jeans, trackpants, jandals or boots. We are a SOFT SPIKE only golf course.
