Lee Bay to Port William Hut

Take the boat to Lee Bay to start the journey on Stewart Island. The walk will start from the coastal track through the forest to Little River with its picturesque setting, and onto Maori Beach.

Maori Beach was once the site of a Maori village but has reverted to wilderness with a gorgeous stretch of sandy beach. You will have lunch there including time to enjoy the captivating surrounding.

Then continue along the track after lunch, past lush tree ferns to Port William Hut which overlooks Magnetic Beach. This is where to spend the night. In the evening a short walk will be made to try out luck at spotting a kiwi (sighting not guaranteed).

What Chrissy says about this tour: This absolute gem of a track will delight you. The splendour of the scenery, beaches, bush and wildlife combine with a feeling of total remoteness. For those who love the feeling of being at one with nature.
