L’Escargot Rouge
Akaroa’s only French deli. With indoor and outdoor seating, it is a great place for breakfast or lunch. They offer a French style breakfast with homemade baguettes, croissants, Croque Monsieur and “pain au chocolate”. For lunch, there are great sandwiches and deli selections, and they serve fresh coffees, teas and cool refreshments. Not to be missed is their delicious homemade ice cream.

The Bach
The Bach Cafe and Bakery is an ideal place to stop off at for either breakfast or lunch. Offering a decent range of delicious burgers, pizzas, sandwiches and cakes, it is the ultimate place to kick back and relax. The chilled environment is great for those group bookings or even for a family get together. With reasonable prices, there isn't any reason not to try the food at The Bach. Open every day from 8am until 4pm and has excellent coffee. It is a great place to sit outside with tables in the shade or in the sun and plenty of indoor seating too.

Akaroa Farmers Market
The Akaroa Farmers Market is open October to April every Saturday morning from 9.30 to 1pm. Banks Peninsula has an abundance of produce and a great micro-climate and lots of passionate gardeners. For sale you will find locally grown fruit, veges, herbs, honey, olive oil, olives, nuts and flowers plus locally produced preserves, pickles, jams, sauces, bread, pastries, cheeses, honey, lavender products and plants and lots more.
Every Saturday: 9.30am to 1pm at Madeira Car Park.
