Reviews of Two Week Active New Zealand Honeymoon

First Light Travel did a great job planning our 5 week honeymoon to New Zealand! Our advisor, Michelle was very knowledgeable and helpful in creating a tailored itinerary for us. We had a wonderful time and when the unexpected happened - we were booked for the White Island Volcano tour 1 week after the tragic eruption happened – First Light refunded any cancelled activities and had an alternative itinerary ready.

Thank you for making our honeymoon exceptional! Would highly recommend to anyone looking to tour NZ!

We had a lovely honeymoon to New Zealand in October 2019 planned by Melissa, your senior travel consultant. From the get go, she was very responsive and accurate with information. This made planning and booking such an ease. We simply let her know which activities we wanted to attend and what kind of accommodation we wanted, and she planned an entire itinerary for us. We made some tweaks along the way, and she was always happy to accommodate for that. We loved our final itinerary! What I found great about First Light was that it took the hassle of planning itineraries and booking out of our hands and into the company's capable hands. This freed us of time and allowed us to really look forward to our trip. The final itinerary that was given had everything we needed to know i.e. address, telephone numbers, places to see in a city etc. when we didn't have any activities planned on that day. We also really appreciated the pickups (generally from our place of accommodation) the activities had. The hosts at our B&Bs were very warm and inviting and we were made to feel at home immediately,

There were a few activities that were cancelled due to bad weather that were one of the highlights of our trip, so that was disappointing. We really hope to be able to go back and do these activities once more! The photo we have is of us feeding Villa Walton's (in Matamata) baby orphan lambs. The owner kindly allowed us to do the morning feeding, which was exciting!

Our trip to the north island of New Zealand was amazing!!! We are so happy with First Light’s services—especially our travel agent Christine. She was very prompt and helpful throughout the entire process. We had a couple unforeseen events occur during the trip and she was there to help however she could. The hotels and excursions were on point for what we told Christine we wanted and were interested in. We plan on using First Light again for our next trip to the South Island!

Shelley was absolutely fantastic from the moment we got in touch. She planned an amazing honeymoon for us touring around beautiful New Zealand, it was fantastic and so stress free knowing that everything was taken care of. All of the accommodation was great and we stayed in some places we’d never have found ourselves. All the tours, trips, and activities were outstanding and everything ran exactly to plan. It’s tough to pick just one highlight, but the Doubtful Sound cruise was just epic. If you’re planning a trip to New Zealand, I couldn’t recommend First Light and Shelley highly enough!

I really want to thank you for finding Glen Den station as I fell in love with the view there. It was through the journey that we found more locations to shoot We meet many wonderful people in NZ who let me shoot my pre wedding pictures such as Chard farm winery. Lake Tekapo and Queenstown were the main locations I had in mind before coming to New Zealand, however, your planning made it even more wonderful. Thank you so much once again!
