This was "the trip of a lifetime!" New Zealand is a unique country. The scenery and terrain are so varied and close together. Everyone we met was so friendly and eager to make our visit memorable. Everywhere we went was clean and neat and demonstated a definite "pride of place." 

The helicopter ride, the tour through the countryside in Wanaka, the floatplane trip to Orakei Korako and the Doubtful Sound excursion were definte highlights. The Maori experience, the Black Swan, sitting under a tree listening to the tui birds at the Boatshed provided memories we won't forget.

We enjoyed our holiday very much overall and thank you very much for your efforts and making changes. It was very unfortunate that we couldn’t go to Napier but we had a great holiday nonetheless and it was great to meet you in Auckland.

We will have to plan a return visit to your beautiful country.

We took a chance and booked with First Light Travel direct after reading reviews etc, but had no previous experience of them. We were very glad we did 😁. From the first contact, through the planning stages to getting our final itinerary, we were given first class service from Micala and the whole team. We booked a month long trip in a Britz Venturer campervan (who we named Doris) and First Light organised this and also the bookings of the campsites en route. They also booked certain trips for us but also left ‘rest days ‘ to give us flexibility to do ad hoc activities. Great balance between keeping us moving and planning in time just to experience New Zealand. When we caught the tail end of Cyclone Geraldine, Micala was in contact with us, reassuring and so helpful that if our ferry crossing was cancelled she had alternatives. A great overall experience and we would recommend them without hesitation!

Our trip was outstanding. All the hotels accommodations were great for the 3 of us and their locations were close to everything so we could walk and not have to use our car. Thanks again for helping rebook us on the earlier ferry crossing, it actually worked out good because it gave us time to explore Picton and get a short hike done before boarding the train. You & your team put together a wonderful package for us and the support was outstanding.

I want to thank First light Travel Team for our wonderful 3 week holiday in New Zealand, North & South Island. I dealt mainly with Makela & Suzie and they were both really caring, professional and gave fantastic suggestions.. Despite interruptions from the Cyclone , they worked together to accommodate plan changes. Though I didn’t see some of the original destinations I wanted to, we could not go wrong in NZ since it’s so beautiful and staying positive and flexible in these situations really helped us make the most of our experience and remain safe.
