Everything about Wharariki beach is large, large waves, cliffs, sand dunes and caves. The beach is book-ended by sheer cliffs and off the beach are distinct wave-buffeted islands, its no wonder ‘Tourism New Zealand’ uses this location to photograph the magnificent isolation to represents our country.

Small Group Horse Trekking - The Baton Run Farm

Boarding the western extremities of Kahurangi National Park and only fifty minutes from the Abel Tasman National Park, the Baton Run Farm offers a unique opportunity for the keen rider to explore Nelson’s untamed backcountry. 

Sporting five valleys equaling 2498 Acres (1011 hectares) the farm has a wide  variety of landscapes including dense native bush and the farms  green fields surrounded by majestic mountains, including the towering Mount Arthur.

The multiday trips are small in the literal sense (no more than five people) they are kept personal, you will be well looked after while still experiencing a true adventure. Quality horses are provided that are willing and well schooled and the overnight wilderness accommodation are high quality comfortable cabins with one of the Alpine Huts has spectacular views over Tasman Bay and beyond.
