River Drift Diving
There are a number of rivers in New Zealand where you can experience fresh water drift diving. Watch as the trout swim by and enjoy the current carrying you on your way.
Typically the underwater journey may take you as far as 2.5 kilometres from your starting point, with a maximum bottom depth of around 15 metres. You can fly along at eight to ten knots, aim for a boulder the size of a car and at the last second zoom over the top. You are guaranteed to see plenty of trout down the river along with eels and other native critters.
