The Beautiful Bay of Islands

Board your luxurious coach, depart Auckland and travel to the Parry Kauri Park to see a magnificent example of a Kauri Tree. Enjoy a visit and informative talk at the Kauri Museum in Matakohe then pass through Whangarei to Paihia. Enjoy a guided tour of the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, the location of the signing of the treaty between the Maori tribes and the British.

Morning Cruise | on to the City of Sails

Your morning starts aboard a luxury catamaran to cruise around Cape Brett and the famous 'Hole in the Rock'. This morning enjoy a city sights tour of Auckland before travelling to the Zealong Tea Estate, New Zealand’s only tea plantation for a tour & tasting. This afternoon travel to Hobbiton and discover the real Middle-earth when you visit the Movie Set from The Lord of the Rings film trilogy on a fascinating guided tour.

Everything Rotorua

Today begins with a Gondola Ride at the Skyline Rotorua for breakfast with champagne, spectacular views and also time for a thrilling luge ride! Enjoy some free time this afternoon before travelling to Te Puia to see the boiling mud pools and awesome Geysers that Rotorua is famous for. Depart Rotorua and travel along the Thermal Explorer Highway to Huka Falls and Lake Taupo. Continue to Napier known as “The Art Deco Capital”, where a city tour will showcase the most comprehensive collection of art deco buildings in the world. Board the Hawke’s Bay Express and hear informative commentary on the city’s fascinating history. Enjoy some free time this afternoon to explore the MTG Hawkes Bay or to take a guided walk at your leisure (optional).

Wellington

The capital of New Zealand, Wellington, is our destination for this afternoon. This colourful city is a stronghold for culture and the arts, not to mention stunningly located on the edge of a picturesque harbour and at the foot of rolling green hills.

Enjoy an extensive city tour in New Zealand’s capital,  a highlight will be a guided tour of Te Papa, New Zealand’s National Museum, with exhibits that embrace both Maori and European views. Enjoy free time at leisure this afternoon.

InterIsland Cruise | Blenheim

This morning, make your way to the Wellington Ferry Terminal in time for your morning crossing of the Cook Strait on the InterIsland Ferry. This challenging stretch of water connects the Tasman Sea to the Southern Pacific Ocean, you will enter the South Island island through the picturesque Marlborough Sounds. Blenheim is the winemaking engine room of the New Zealand wine industry. In the 1970's the plains would have been filled by sheep - now it  is vines as far as the eye can see, producing world class wines.

East Coast to Christchurch

The vines will keep us company as we reach the headlands of the East Coast. Once down on the flats, this road - (worthy of any big budget car commercial) hugs the coastline - we stop to enjoy the marine life as Fur Seals bask and play along the rocky shoreline, before arriving in gorgeous Kaikoura. The Kaikoura peninsula enjoys a mild microclimate and is overlooked by majestic snowcapped mountains. This unique proximity of ocean and mountain range offers a host of eco-tourism oriented activities, including whale watching, dolphin and seal swimming, kayaking, fishing and hiking. Leaving Kaikoura we head inland towards the rural Canterbury plains, once again passing through viticulture of the Waipara wine region.

TranzAlpine Train into Glacier Country

This morning board the TranzAlpine, renowned as one of the great train journeys of the world. Travel over massive viaducts, river valleys and spectacular gorges as you ascend to Arthur’s Pass National Park located in the centre of the Southern Alps. Board your Ultimate coach and travel to Hokitika, famous for its Greenstone before continuing via Franz Josef Glacier to Fox Glacier where time is available to experience a scenic flight (optional, weather permitting) over the spectacular glaciers.

Following the Wild West Coast to Queenstown

Te Anau - Gateway to Fiordland National Park

Enjoy a leisurely start this morning before travelling to picturesque Arrowtown, an old gold mining village where you visit the Lakes District Museum. Continue to the lakeside town of Te Anau, the gateway to Fiordland National Park Tonight after dinner you may like to visit the Te Anau Glow Worm Caves (optional). The caves have only been recently rediscovered, because someone had known they were there as Te Anau is a shortened form of “Te Ana-au” which means “the cave of the swirling water current”. Getting to the caves involves a scenic cruise to the western shores.

Cruise the Spectacular Milford Sound

The Road to Milford is one of New Zealand’s most scenic drives. The first part is relatively mild farmland, then you’ll ease into beech forest near the entrance to the Fiordland National Park. We show you the 'Avenue of the Disappearing Mountain' and the 'Mirror Lakes'. The rough hewn Homer Tunnel brings you into Milford Sound, where you board your launch for a cruise on this magnificent fiord.

A cruise on Milford Sound is an essential component of your time in Fiordland and is an amazing 22 km (14 mile) long fiord dominated by the towering Mitre Peak and spectacular Bowen Falls. As you enjoy a picnic lunch onboard, tall waterfalls, vertical rock faces and seals are some of the things you’ll remember - all carved by glaciers during the last ice age. 

This afternoon return to Te Anau where some free time is available.

Dunedin - Scottish City of Grace and Grandeur

Travel via Gore and Balclutha to Dunedin known as the “Edinburgh of the South”. Enjoy an informative city tour followed by some free time to explore at leisure. The sweet tooth might like to tour Cadbury World (optional) whilst others might be interested in a tour of the Speight’s Brewery (optional).
