New Zealand Kayaking

Kayaking in New Zealands beautiful Abel Tasman National Park.

Something for everyone

New Zealand Kayaking & Canoeing

Canoes and kayaks (covered canoes) are in our blood, ever since the first people (Māori) came to New Zealand in great ocean-going canoes (or waka) nearly 800 years ago, these simple boats have been seen on our horizons and make up an important part of our culture.

A Nation of Islands and Inland Waterways

With more than 600 near shore Islands, 14,000 kilometres (8,700 miles) of coastline and some stunning inland lakes and wilderness rivers just waiting to be explored - its no wonder so many people come here for a New Zealand kayaking holiday.

Popular Full Day and Multiday Safaris

Particularly popular are our guided full day or multiday camping safaris. Our North Island favorites are experienced in Northlands warm Bay of Islands, Auckland’s vast Hauraki Gulf and the volcanic coast of the Coromandel Peninsula - lets not forget the primordial Whanganui River Canoeing Safari.

The South Island offers the warm golden beaches of Abel Tasman National Park, the secluded Marlborough Sounds and the true wilderness areas of Milford and Doubtful Sound in Fiordland National Park.

Over the years we have researched and planned many remote and wild New Zealand kayaking journeys for our more adventurous guests, more often than not we are teaming them up with one of our specialized guides and getting them into one of the South Islands Wild West Coast River systems by helicopter – If you are keen, we are more than willing to help!

Something with You in Mind

Kayaking is one of those activities that can get you into areas of spectacular natural beauty away from the maddening crowds. The types of experiences we offer can be as simple as a gentle float or paddle in a serene environment to navigating roaring tormented white water and a little bit of everything in between.

Our guided multiday kayaking trips can have you staying in a tent on a secluded beach, around a fire deep in a forest or enjoying the comforts of a 5 star luxury lodge. You can cook your own meals or be fully catered for.  Please feel free to contact us and let us know what you are looking for – we know you won’t be disappointed.
