New Zealand Self Drive Tour Reviews

We enjoyed three weeks in Middle Earth with our two girls. Thanks to First Light Travel we did not have to worry about a thing. Thanks to the professional organization of Judith we only had to enjoy every minute of our holiday. It was just perfect. We'll be back, that's for sure!

Hi Steve,

To start things off we had a fantastic time. You did a great job organising and it all flowed together nicely. Queenstown and Milford Sound all worked smoothly, hotels were perfect for our needs. The views from Queenstown hotel were excellent.

Mount Cook - Kayaking was very much enjoyed. Kaikoura motel was excellent, and dinner was perfect. Whale watching also successful. Waitomo hotel was fun and the spellbound caves were excellent. Auckland perfectly placed hotel. Hire car was perfect size for our needs and everything ran smoothly with picking and dropping off.

Now we are home. Long journey to be remembered! Once again, BIG THANK YOU! We filled out the survey form and will definitely recommend First Light to anyone willing to go to NZ. We were lucky with the weather except for one day when we had to cancel the horse rides. Great that all the other activities took place. Specially the helicopter flight and picnic at the peak! Fantastic!!!

This was our first trip to New Zealand, it was the most incredible experience I've ever had! Working with Shelley was so easy and it was the first time using a travel planner. I will absolutely be back in touch for when we return for our South Island trip. It was amazing!

I absolutely adored my time working with First Light Travel. We had a very nice trip to New Zealand! Its hard to pick a favorite, but the glass bottom boat trip to Cathedral Cove was quite memorable. The Waitomo Glow Worm Caves were very cool also. I will attach a few photos to this email in case you would like to use any.

We just wanted to drop you a note to thank you again. Our experience at the Watermark Studio Apartment was a highlight of our holiday in New Zealand. The floors were beautiful, the bed was comfortable, and the matching lounge chairs were great for relaxing reading while drinking some Waiheke wine from Man O’ War vineyards. The wall of glass has such a great ocean and coastline view that we were glad we kept our day of island adventure short. Every so often we would stop, glance at the picturesque scene, and savor the experience. It was such a wonderful place to relax in such a gorgeous country. While it may seem funny to some, another highlight was the breakfast. Thanks for the fresh kiwi!

Not sure if you are interested in our pictures, but here are just a few. Amy took the one of the wooden bench with an iPhone. It tops all the photos I took with my fancy Canon SLR! It’s going on our wall along with many others.

“It was really like being on a paradise island and was so natural with almost no people, no stores! If people want to de-stress from city life, they should definitely go there!” “After hiking the island for about two hours I just laid down in the grass, listened to the ocean and the birds for some time – what could be better!” We just got back from ‘paradise island’ - Tiritiri Matangi. This wildlife sanctuary is located only 30km from Auckland in the Hauraki Gulf. Anne had gone for an early morning walk at 5am and spotted one of the rare kiwi’s situated on the island!
