For anyone planning to visit New Zealand in the future, we highly recommended the services of First Light Travel. We coordinated with Amelia for a trip that had us hopscotching across both islands. Give her a shout to help plan and coordinate your activities, either high adventure or total relaxation; from economy to luxury.

Every excursion exceeded our expectations; Shotover Jetboat ride, Around the basin bike tour Bike the Bridges and the refreshing and well-deserved wine tasting at the culmination, Real Journeys Milford Sound cruise (spectacular does not pay this justice), Guided Walks New Zealand Routeburn Tract hike with Steven (gorgeous and educational), Nature Connection Volcanoes and Rainforest tour (with boat ride) was fabulous, Te Puia Maori evening event where I was selected to serve as the visiting chief, hongi with the head warrior, dancing the poi and haka, and enjoying delicious food and the scenic geysers, and finally the Waitomo glowworm caves (like nothing you can imagine, like being in outer space).

Our consultant Shelley was fabulous throughout and made an itinerary that met everything we wanted to do in two weeks. We had a jam packed itinerary, full of adrenaline activities and she did a fantastic job fitting everything in and coordinating enough time for us in between to get to everything. The accomadations were spot on and enjoyable and the whole trip was planned within our given budget. The company presented us a great package with vouchers that made the whole trip flawless. Even when there was a hiccup due to a road closure, Shelley was on top of it and notified us three days in advance. We also had a change to one of our activities which we were notified of and booked into something similar in no time. Over all I would highly recommend this company for a self drive tour of New Zealand. No hassle and minimum planning on your part so one can just enjoy the experience.

I can not say enough good things about First Light Travel and Chrissy Sun, the planner who assisted me in planning my incredible New Zealand 14-day self-drive adventrue! Being under a time crunch to plan my vacation, Chrissy understood and quickly put my mind at ease. After giving her a vague wishlist of what I would like to see and do, she quickly went to work and planned out all the details. She ensured there were no questions or concerns left unanswered before I was scheduled to depart. Chrissy planned an adventure that covered the North and South Island. It was quite the ambitious schedule, but I knew I was up for the challenge. Some incredible highlights of my adventure were the Waitomo Glow Worm Caves, bungee jumping, tandem skydiving, glacier hiking, wine tours, whale watching, experiencing Maori culture, and that is the tip of the iceberg.

Sofie Liu was AMAZINGLY organized and prompt with answer every single questions we had. BEYOND wonderfull! We LOVED all the activities Sofie suggested to us. We ended up doing MOST of everything on the initial recommendation. We loved our first scuba diving experience (although I was scared), white water rafting!

It was our first time in New Zealand and Sofie, our travel agent, made it soooooo smooth and easy! We appreciated all the details and thoughts put into the booking of activities and planning our short trip to NZ. We loved all the activities we did. It was an experience of a lifetime! Sofie was amazing at answering all the questions that we had.

hmm, I don't think I can pick out one highlight. So I'll highlight the most memorable for me. The Nige Canyoning was absolutely amazing. I'm so glad I didn't miss it. I knew I would have regretted it. This just seemed to work out. The ice climbing was really fun! That was the way to go cause it kind of combined the day hike and ice climbing into one. The heli-trek was spectacular! The views were unreal. The trek was difficult for me, but well worth the effort. Both the bungy jumps were super crazy!! I loved the water touch and just the insanity of the nevis jump was enough to make me happy...wow! The canyon swing was fun too, I jumped backwards so it added a little bit to the fear. The waitomo caving trip was awesome. Lost epic is definitely the trip to take. Oh and rafting Wairoa was the best. It was a short run, but packed with crazy rapids. I had a great guide and a light raft with fun people so that added to the experience. Those are my highlights.

My favorite town was Wanaka. So beautiful. And home of the best burger place ever. I will miss Red Star.

This was the ultimate vacation for me. Thanks so much for planning it.
