Snow FAQs:

Q: What is the best time of the year to come skiing?

A: Mt Hutt can experience powder days right from opening day at the beginning of June. With the extensive snowmaking system at Mt Hutt and Coronet Peak they have consistently had snow on the ground and been open in early June since 1994. June, July and August traditionally are the months with highest snow falls. The Remarkables opens in late June. If you are after warmer sun soaked days you can’t beat September and October for a great time spring skiing. Occasionally there is still snow around until December, but we wouldn't suggest you plan a ski trip in December just in case!

Q: I've never tried skiing or snowboarding before. Can I take lessons and hire all the equipment I need?

A: Absolutely. We can arrange both lessons and equipment hire for you.

Q: Can I rent jackets, pants, gloves, goggles and hats up the mountain?

A: You can rent jackets and pants but not gloves, goggles or hats for hygiene reasons. There are usually a range of these items in the shops on the mountains which are very reasonably priced.

Q: Will they have a pair of boots to fit me?

A: Most ski fields an cater up to a size 14 (English) or 15 (USA) fitting. If you have special requirements just let us know.
