Day 1
We collect you from your hotel and head down to the marina for the leisurely sail to the bottom end of Waiheke Island. Here we drop anchor for the night, enjoy sunset's "happy hour" and a real home cooked meal with an amazing view toward Auckland.
Day 2
From Waiheke we sail across to the Firth of Thames and the Coromandel Coast, with maybe a spot of fishing along the way before anchoring in Deep Water Cove.
Day 3
Spend the day exploring Coromandel - if the tide is right, we'll take a dinghy up to the township's galleries and cafes - or take the bush railway up to Barry Brickell's pottery kilns (summer only), or simply potter along the coast to Elephant Cove
Day 4
Big sail today (4 to 5 hours) north to Kawau Island and Governor Grey's mansion, a magnificent reminder of a bygone era.
Day 5
Exploring Kawau and the surrounding islands, we walk to an abandoned nineteenth century copper mine and fossick in the wreck at Motorekareka Island.
Day 6
Heading homeward again - pausing at Tiri Tiri Matangi Island to visit the bird sanctuary and then across to Waiheke Island to visit a few wineries and enjoy one of the Island's delightful cafes.
Day 7
On our final day we sail around Waiheke Island, stopping off for a swim or to explore the network of wartime tunnels, with perhaps a little trolling along the way, and BBQ fish for lunch. A leisurely day's sailing, we return to the marina just in time for drinks and dinner in the BBYC - the yacht club that hosts the Louis Vuitton series - then its back to your hotel.
