Southern Wonder - 7 Day New Zealand Adventure Tour

7 Day Top of the South Adventure Tour

Wine, wildlife and discovery of the top and central regions of the South Island of New Zealand. View whales up close, cycle Marlborough vineyards, walk the Queen Charlotte Track and Abel Tasman National Park, swim with Hector dolphins and explore inland caves and fresh water springs

Your Tour Itinerary

Day One - Kaikoura

The undersea world of Kaikoura beholds a vast array of wonderful and unique marine creatures from the smallest invertebrate through to the giant sperm whales. The rich diversity of wildlife found means that every day is a chance to see something different and unique - and you will - from seabirds to cetaceans (whales and dolphins), seals, or even Orca. Today’s options are Whale Watching, Seal Dive or Dolphin Swim.

Day Two - Marlborough Wine Country

Vineyard Cycling or Walking Tour The Marlborough Region, is New Zealand’s premier wine growing region and world famous for its Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay varieties. Visit a selection of Marlborough's famous vineyards, enjoy the tastes and soak up the atmosphere. Blenheim, the provincial capital, is located in the lower Wairau Valley and enjoys excellent sunny weather suitable for both outdoor activities and ripening grapes. Over 40 wineries can be explored by bike or by foot along quiet back roads, and all within a 10km radius. We will select a route that caters to the preferences of our group to partake in wine tasting, gourmet food, crafts or just cycling on these quiet country roads.

Day Three - Queen Charlotte Sounds

Queen Charlotte Walk After a short cruise in the Marlborough Sounds, our day walk starts from Ship Cove. The Cove is of worldwide historical significance being the one place that Captain Cook visited 5 times. As you sweep into Ship Cove you will understand why. A steady climb out of Ship Cove provides unsurpassed views to the North Island. Follow the track down into Resolution Bay and through to Endeavour Inlet where you spy Furneaux Lodge with its broad sweeping lawns. This historic homestead has a restaurant and bar where you can relax before returning to Picton.

Walking the Queen Charlotte Track

Days Four/Five - Nelson and Golden Bay

A fun filled 2 day one night getaway in the beauty of the Abel Tasman National Park.

It's all here .... a great couple of days on the water combining sailing and sightseeing with beach stops, relaxing. We start with a cruise north aboard a large comfortable catamaran, scenic sailing close to the Abel Tasman coastline. Along the way expect to see secluded coves, golden sand beaches, pristine clear waters and native wildlife. Anchorage will then be our base for the following 24 hours. For the rest of the afternoon you can enjoy kayaking, swimming, sunbathing, scuba diving or just relaxing in the tranquillity of the National Park... you decide. That evening enjoy a Kiwi style BBQ dinner in good company. Enjoy a social evening with the rest of the crew, settle into a good book or just relax under the stars.

Day Six - Buller

An abundance of pristine, uncrowned wilderness makes the top of the South Island a white water adventurer‘s dream destination.....The Buller and West Coast are regarded as New Zealand‘s premier white water regions. Exhilarating white water and rugged West Coast scenery make rafting the Buller Gorge an adventure not to miss. Join us on a raft journey through spectacular granite canyons for what is undoubtedly the Buller’s best rafting trip. “With the emphasis on fun and participation” Buller Gorge Rafting could well be the most enjoyable activity on your holiday. Not only do we contain some of the most exciting, scenic and remote rivers in the country, the Buller River is the largest free flowing in New Zealand meaning we have water - and plenty of it all year round.

Day Seven - Hanmer Springs

Hanmer Springs Thermal Resort is a beautiful alpine village blessed with a unique style of its own. Located in an active thermal region, Hanmer Springs is famous for its Natural hot springs. Our day here includes a scenic mountain bike ride and pass into Hanmer Springs Thermal Reserve for a much deserved soak in the hot springs.
