Haere Mai and Welcome to the 'City of Sails'

Relax, you are officially on holiday! We have arranged for you to be met and transferred to your accommodation. The remainder of the day is yours to do as you please. There is plenty to see and do in Auckland. New Zealand’s largest city is located between two large harbours and 48 extinct volcanic cones scattered over the city are evidence of it's volancic past. They also provide a perfect location for viewing the city! A diversely cultural place, Auckland is a great location for marine adventures, wine tasting, forest walks and urban sophistication.

Auckland Sightseeing Tour and Harbour Cruise

City Tour and Harbour Cruise.
Visit historical area's such as Parnell Village, Tamaki Drive, iconic Karangahape Road, the stylish suburb of Ponsonby, the central city's main road Queen Street then last but not least is the Auckland Domain, Auckland's oldest park, situated on a 62 thousand year old volcano. Then its off to the Viaduct Harbour and then its all onboard for a cruise on Auckland’s Waitemata Harbour to enjoy the grand views of the Hauraki Gulf and city skyline.

Tour the amazing Waitomo Glow Worm Grotto by boat with a local guide. From here your journey continues to Rotorua, where you’ll visit Te Puia. A local Maori guide will escort you through the Thermal Reserve Whakarewarewa. ‘You’re invited’ to the Tamaki Maori Marae for a very personal and exclusive cultural evening. Enjoy a Maori Hangi Feast with local wine and a concert in their private dining room.

Rotorua - Christchurch

Visit Rainbow Springs Nature Park. You may even spot a kiwi bird! Next up is the Agrodome Sheep Show, the multi-award-winning stage show, which offers an insight into agriculture in New Zealand. In the afternoon you’ll fly to Christchurch New Zealands 'Garden City' (airfare not included).

New Zealand’s second-largest city and the gateway to the South Island, Christchurch sits on the very edge of the Canterbury Plains and is bordered by the Pacific Ocean. The city itself has bounced back after a series of major earthquakes, and has shown its resilience with a number of new and exciting developments popping up everywhere.

Christchurch - Franz Josef Glacier

Journey on the TranzAlpine Train through the Southern Alps to Arthur’s Pass. At Hokitika visit a New Zealand greenstone (jade) factory for a jewellery demonstration. Then its on to  Franz Josef - ‘Glacier Country’ – in parts, huge valleys of ice tumble down almost to sea level. Also blessed with lakes, rivers and wetlands; Westland is an outdoor enthusiast’s dream. Here, the landscapes are highly revered by those kiwis who have lived here for generations, as well as by the local Ngai Tahu tribe who hold this wild place in high spiritual esteem.

On arrival nestled in lush rainforest enjoy the option to soak in the Glacier Hot Pools, a perfect way to unwind after your days drive.

Franz Josef - Queenstown

Drive over the Haast Pass, past Thunder Creek Falls, Lakes Wanaka, Hawea and Dunstan. Enjoy the tastes of delicious stone fruit at Cromwell – the stone fruit capital. Next you’ll visit historic gold mining Arrowtown on the Arrow River, before arriving in Queenstown, where an orientation tour completes your day.

Milford Sound Scenic Cruise - Fiordland

Journey over the Devil’s Staircase and along the shores of Lake Wakatipu to Te Anau and its lake, the largest in the South Island. Travel through the rainforest of World Heritage Fiordland National Park, sighting glaciers and mountain ranges. Drive through the hand-hewn Homer Tunnel to the numerous photo opportunities afforded by the Mirror Lake, Pop’s Lookout, Cleddau Valley and the Chasm, Mitre Peak and Bowen Falls before reaching Milford Sound. Enjoy lunch while you cruise on this wonder of nature. Return to Queenstown this evening.

Queenstown - Christchurch

You’ll be awestruck by the sensational alpine landscape of Mt.Cook National Park. Later in the day you continue on to see Lakes Pukaki and Tekapo, where you’ll stop to view the Church of the Good Shepherd. ‘You’re invited’ to Morelea Farm, home of Angie and Stan Taylor to enjoy a barbecue lunch in their 240 hectare garden and to gain an insight into the day to day operation of farm life. Travel over the Canterbury Plains to Christchurch. Join your Tour Director and new-found friends this evening for a farewell dinner.
