Underwater digital photography workshops

Digital is here and is creating a new revolution in underwater photography. Have you ever considered giving underwater photography a go but been put off by the complexity of the equipment, or the cost, or both. Maybe you have tried but been disappointed with the results. Well, maybe it’s time you joined the digital revolution. Perhaps you already have but need a little guidance in how to get the best out of your camera. Join award winning photographer and author, Glenn Edney aboard Oceanblue Adventures new live-aboard dive vessel at the Poor Knights for a two day, hands on workshop that will give you the knowledge and skills to start taking great images you will be proud to show off to others. Topics covered during the workshop include:

  • Pros and cons; digital versus film
  • Technical jargon; understanding pixels, dpi, ppi, resolution and more
  • Camera preparation and maintenance
  • Diving skills and safety
  • Choosing your subject
  • Photographic Composition
  • Shooting techniques; macro to wide angle
  • Lighting
  • Working with models
  • Basic editing and computer enhancement

You will do at least four dives with time after each dive for instant feedback of your images. At the end of the workshop you will be presented with a certificate and a cd of your best images.

Add the digital underwater photography workshop to any 4 day liveaboard for only NZ$300 (plus camera hire if required).

All trips are subject to weather conditions. Destinations and actual dive sites will be chosen to suit the prevailing weather conditions at the time.
