Set Sail in the Bay of Islands

This sub-tropical region has the finest maritime park in New Zealand with 144 islands, secluded bays, and an abundance of marine life including marlin, whales, penguins, dolphins, gannets and many other species. It is one of the most picturesque and popular holiday sites in New Zealand. It combines great fishing, diving, sailing and other water sports.

Today we head from Paihia into the actual bay of islands, there is a good chance we will see some of the resident whale or may even be followed by a pod of curious dolphin.

Exploring the islands

Our route and itinerary are dependant on sea and weather conditions. However to give you an idea, here are some of the places we visit regularly: See Map

Cape Brett Hole in the Rock
Black Rocks Urupukapuka Island
Roberton Island Whangaroa Harbour
Whangamumu The Cavalli Islands

Homeward Bound

Our journey will take you onto the ocean and to uninhabited islands, remote beaches and rugged, coastal headlands. We explore our destinations by kayaking, snorkeling and walking. There is no standard route or itinerary as these are weather dependent. We always aim to take in the top attractions as well as hidden gems off the beaten track.

After a breakfast and refreshing swim we set sail and explore more of the Islands, before heading back to Paihia.
