Milford Sound Coach, Cruise and Walk

This spectacular region is best seen in multiple ways, by coach, on the water and by foot. Available 1st October to 30th April you can enjoy a small group (12 people maximum) day excursion into Milford Sound. This tour includes a cruise deep into the fiord and out to the Tasman Sea, afterwards you can select either a series of short walks with a local nature guide or choose to do an unguided 2 1/2 hours hiking on the renowned Routeburn Great Walk to Key Summit.

Milford Sound Boat Cruise

We meet in Te Anau and make our way up into Fiordland National Park, once we arrive into Milford Sound we will join on a boat Cruise for a relaxing cruise. On board you will be provided with spectacular scenery surrounding you - towering mountains which delve deep into the water, dense rainforest, waterfalls and local wildlife (seals, penguins and dolphins). You will have the option to add on the Milford Deep Underwater Discovery Center whilst on your cruise, or a Milford Sound scenic helicopter flight. We can ensure you have the ultimate Milford Sound experience whilst you are here. Extra charges apply

Walks

A great way to see Fiordland is by foot, whether it's a multi day hike or a multitude of short walks, you'll be sure to find a range of different environments and exceptional New Zealand beauty. 
On the completion of our cruise we being our land tour. You can choose to do multiple short walks with an experienced nature guide or either 2.5 hours walking on the Routeburn Track to Key Summit or if arranged with us previously you can opt for an early morning walk on the Milford Track, Sand-fly Point to Giants Gate Falls.

Short Walks and Photo Options
This option is perfect for all ages and abilities. We take on a series of short walks and with our National Park concession we are able to visit the Gertrude Valley, Lake Gunn and Hollyford Valley, enabling you to get off the beaten track to experience a range of environments in this World Heritage Area. Your guide will talk to you about the natural fauna and flora in the area and there will be plenty of time for photo opportunities.

​Routeburn Track Key Summit Option
The Routeburn Track is suitable for the more active, and is renowned as one of the best walks in New Zealand. Normally this is a 3 day hike but today we will only be walking some of it. We ascend up the Routeburn Track enroute to Key Summit as we go through lush beech rainforest and onwards into alpine terrain, as we reach to the top you'll be rewarded with panoramic views over the surrounding Fiordland Mountains, alpine lakes and bush clad valleys. Unless the whole group chooses this option, then generally it is unguided.

Milford Track Walk - Sand Fly Point to Giants Gate Falls
Take a short cruise across Milford Sound to the world famous Milford Track for our morning guided walk to Giant's Gate Falls.  As you walk through the pristine rainforest and catch glimpses of the jagged peaks towering above you'll understand why this is this 'Finest Walk in the World' - Return and cruise the magnificent Milford Sound.
