Opunake BeachTaranaki

Opunake Beach is a gem, known as the “Home of the Big Wave” within Taranaki. The beach is an exposed beach break that offers quite consistent surf, but also a great place for swimming. During Spring and Summer it provides the perfect conditions with little crowds.

Kumera Patch

Kumera Patch and Stent Road are the two best breaks which are known to countless surfers. Enjoy Kumera’s fast breaking left hander which goes for 150m along a boulder bank Make sure your fitness is up to peak level - a ride Kumera's can take you between 100-200m+ around the point. Worn-out legs and noodle arms are side effects of indulging in too much Kumera Patch magic! The waves here are best surfed with a southwest swell in the 4-12ft range (1.2-3.6m).
