Arrowtown Golf Club
A local favorite, the Arrowtown golf course is a par 70 and is 5327 meters (17447 feet) long. Its natural terrain layout provides plenty of challenges for the golfer, like the huge natural boulders that line many of the fairways with the odd schist outcrops getting in the way. Stone cottage ruins nestle amongst towering trees are a legacy of area’s gold mining heritage. The greens are set among the dry tussock grass and scrub so characteristic of this region.
From every hole you are greeted with majestic views of the surrounding mountains of the Wakatipu Basin. It is not a long course, but plays tight so to score well, you need to play straight.
